Just a routine appointment. Nothing major to report.
All blood work and tests from the last appointment came back normal. Jerry and I got to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time. . . Gratefully, the doctor found it fairly easily. The heart rate was a nice and strong 150+ bpm.
Unfortunately, I have lost 3 pounds from the last appointment. . . now weighing 125 pounds. So I have a total weight gain of -3 pounds. Doctor is not concerned about the lost of weight because it's still early, I have plenty of time to gain the weight. She just doesn't want to see it go backwards anymore or too much farther. Must start gaining weight.
I was also able to discuss my horrible headaches with her. They can appear out of anywhere and last forever. They are so random. . . sometimes I even wake up with them. Of course, they are on set because of the hormones going crazy inside me. She prescribed me Tylenol #3 with Codeine and said that if that doesn't work I will have to see a neurologist to get my hormones balanced correctly. Hopefully, the Tylenol #3 will do the trick.

Doctor's Appointment #1 - 10w3d
Well this morning I had a doctor's appointment in Lee's Summit and today confirmed what Jerry and I have been expecting for a few weeks now.
We are shocked - but very pleased - to announce that we are expecting our 4th {and final} child. This was a little surprise and we weren't intentionally trying to get pregnant again so soon. And in fact, we have already determined that this will be our last. It just isn't safe for me to carry anymore children - but we will get into that later.
I'm not sure if most of you know or not. . . but since having Jacob my cycles have been off. They have a tendency to go into hibernation sometimes, which isn't a bad thing but it's not completely normal. And I have to go to the doctor to get a jump-start to get things on track again. Well that's what I originally thought when my cycle disappeared. That was UNTIL the nausea and dizziness started. Then it was time for a home pregnancy test which eventually came back positive. But again, we've been in that boat before and couldn't jump to any conclusions until I seen the doctor.
This morning, Jerry and I met with a new OB/GYN to get checked out. And just like we were beginning to expect, I am pregnant. I think after the shock wears off things will be joyous but the first few minutes / hours were filled with questions, worries, doubts. And believe me when I say that I thought about every option - including termination. But I just don't think I can terminate this child because of my own insecurities. {And please know that I don't say terminate because I want to hurt my future child or make them think I don't want them in any way - simply because it is unsafe for me to continue on this journey without knowing all the risks and I have a husband and 3 other children to think about, not to mention all my extended family!} Jerry and I never discussed having another child so close in age to Jaxen. So we had a lot to consider. . . but Jerry was all in from the moment he found out we were expecting again. So that was reassuring.
After discussing all our options and questions with the doctor, we feel that we are taking the right path for everyone. The doctor is concerned about this being my 4th c-section delivery. The only thing saving me is that none of the prior c-sections where emergency c-sections and as long as all the doctor's prior to this, closed me up correctly then my chances are good with having a safe and unexciting delivery. The doctor was also concerned about the placenta problems that I had with Jaxen. But as long as my placenta implants away from the old c-section scar we will be in the clear; however, we will not know that until an ultrasound is done. If the placenta implants close the the old c-section scar then we will have a whole different set of problems for me. . . which will be dealt with as they come. But the doctor is giving us a laid-back, proactive approach to this pregnancy.
It is quick to want medicine to intervene and loose sight of the pregnancy. And believe me that will get expensive fast! Jerry and I want to go forward like nothing is wrong, the doctor is prepared and watching for issues or problems but we will not react until one comes up. Which is exactly what Jerry and I want, it's nice to know that someone is watching out for us and letting us cherish the moment at the same time. The change in doctor's is to benefit a more personal doctor / patient experience. The doctor's office will and have seen me in a days notice. And are seeing me more frequently than the average case pregnancy {I'm seen every 4 weeks or less}. They are always just a phone call away and willing to see me on the weekends. Even though I am not considered "high-risk" {at this time} the new office is suited to handle such cases. And Jerry and I absolutely love the point-blank honesty that this doctor gives us.
The doctor also stressed that it was very important that another pregnancy does not happen. The risk of something bad happening goes up significantly with every pregnancy. . . which does include the placenta growing through my uterus because of the scar and causing me to have a full hysterectomy or dying. {Which my doctor has experienced before and is capable of doing a hysterectomy and saving my life}
With all that scary stuff being said, I really do feel fine. I am nauseous ALL THE TIME and beyond tired most of the time. But other than typical pregnancy related issues things are wonderful. We do not have an ultrasound scheduled until the 20 week scan in February -- that is of course, if they can find the baby's heartbeat at our next doctor's appointment. {We were unable to find it this last time but hopefully that means that the placenta has implanted away from my old c-section scar!! **Good Thoughts**}

November Update
I am having a tough time keeping up with this little blog. And I keeping kicking myself to be better. It's just that there are so many things going on - so many things that are still on the fence. Hard to share and get my hopes up and then something happen and everything falls through.
Our big announcement is that we are SO close to closing on a new house. I can't believe this is all happening, and the new house is AMAZING! Tons of rooms, tons of space, a finished basement, 5 acres to run on, and still in our school district! We are just waiting to her how the assessment went and waiting on the bank to produce the funds at our closing date of December 15th. This is so nerve-wracking - I can't stand it!! We've had to get inspections and insurance quotes and SO MANY things I had no idea about!! But basically if everything works the way we want {and need} it to, we will be moving 10 days before Christmas!! And I expect a visit from all of you, so I can show off our new place!
The kids are doing well, we are slowly getting in the Christmas Spirit. I am going to start our Christmas shopping on Black Friday. . . Going shopping with my sister-in-law, it should be a lot of fun! And with our next paycheck and bonuses I should be able to finish up Jaxen's birthday and the kid's Christmas. I was hoping that this year I would be better prepared than last, but it looks like I am farther behind!! I guess kids and a new house will do that to you!
Not sure what else to tell you right now. Everything is just sitting out there on a fence. . . waiting totally stinks!! Once I know something, I will be sure to share with you all. Because Jerry and I are going to need help getting moved before Christmas!!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!! We will be leaving tomorrow afternoon for mom and dad's place. . . Thanksgiving with the family is a total must for Jaxen and Carter's 1st Thanksgiving!!!

I'm still here. . .
Wowzers, I can't believe I haven't post since Jacob's birthday! These days quickly got away from me. But honestly, we have been adjusting to a new normal around here.
The day after Jacob's Birthday, I started my new job at the Distribution Center. I love working three days and being home four!! I didn't realize how easy Jerry had it! He's had to step up his domestic duties since we are on the same schedule!! I'm not cleaning the house by myself! Okay, I suppose I should let him off the hook a little, he does work NIGHTS, so the shift in schedule is harder for him than it is on me. And it doesn't matter what he's worked, he is up every morning with Chloe and Jacob getting them ready for school with me. Which is something I really enjoy! And I thought he would like that extra sleeping in in the morning. . . he must enjoy getting them ready too!
Chloe's in full swing with school, Girl Scouts, and Cheer leading. The biggest difference between kindergarten and first grade is HOMEWORK! The teacher is very good to us parents. . . I get a note home on Monday letting me know the days and the subject that will be coming home. Which lets me make sure she does it right away and not wait until bedtime to remember! So far, Tuesday's and Thursday's have been reading and Wednesday's been math homework.
I've been able to take Chloe to and from Cheer practice, but Daddy's had to do the games. However, I want to take the time to complain. . . the games that fall on his days are at Chloe's school! My games are always the away games, where I have to go find some tiny school out in the middle of nowhere!! We still have another month and a half of Cheering. I'm not sure if she's going to do it again next year - she might surprise me!
Jacob's absolutely LOVE pre-school!! I was so nervous, because he's a shy guy until he gets used to something. But he walks into classroom with his head high and has so much fun!! He's talks a mile a minute when Jerry and I pick him up. He's the youngest in his class. . . most of his classmates attended pre-school last year but the Level 1 time and days interfered with our work schedules so we elected to put Jake in Level 2. Next year he will be in Level 2 again but he will go all day instead of half days. . . to get ready for Kindergarten.
My favorite part of Thursday and Friday is picking Jacob up at school. Friday when I picked him up he told me he had "Cheese-It's" in his bag. I questioned him. . . why do you have "cheese-it's" in your bag? Jacob the digs in he bag, "NO Mom! I have Chheeeeses." and pulls out a picture of Jesus!! :-) Gotta love him!! The day before I asked him what his bible verse was and he says in a super cute voice. . . "In the Beginning God created the Heavens and Earth." Then shows me how to do it in sign language! I am so glad he is doing so well in preschool!
Jaxen is just cuddly, cute, and LOUD! He's very mobile, very energetic and did I mention VERY loud!?!?! He's about to get two bottom teeth, they are so close. . . I look every day to make sure they haven't popped up! Jaxen will be 9 months old next weekend! The time is going really too fast! I don't remember the other two growing up as fast!
I've started Girl Scouts up for the year, my little troop of 7 girls is now 3 troops of 18!! And I am literally getting a phone call or email everyday about another girl wanting to join!! I've really gotten my hand full this year!!! It must be a good thing I only work the weekends, now I can devote more time to Girl Scouting! LOL
Well I better get going and get the kids in bed. I have to have everyone up and out the door by 3am! Please bare with me, next weekend my baby sister gets married and I'm working this new schedule. . . I use to update the blog on Sundays. . .now I have to find a new day to update!! Hopefully, I will get an update are two in during September. But I tell you now, it's a super busy month!!

Update on Jacob
Well as most of you facebook lurkers already know, I had to take Jacob to the doctor again today.
I called the pediatrician this morning, because after 48 hours of kicking, screaming, and fighting Jacob to allow us to put the eye drops in his eyes, I had had enough. I was literally terrorizing my poor child. He was hating me. I was hating me and I couldn't keep going. . . emotionally. It was just as hard on me as it was on him. So I called the doctor to find out if there was something else I could give him besides eye drops.
And of course, our doctor couldn't prescribe Jacob anything new until he seen him personally. So the pediatrician's office was able to get me an appointment for 2pm. I was already at work, and believe me, if I had to leave I would have in a heartbeat. But by working 6 hours and then going home, I worked over half my shift and it's much easier for Walmart to overlook than me just taking off a couple hours after I got there. So I worked 7a-1p, without a lunch and then clocked out for the day. My boss is and was very good about letting me go, especially when it comes to my babies!
So at 1pm, I took off and headed for home to get Jacob. Jerry had him dressed, fed and ready to go when I pulled in the drive. And Jerry was even kind enough to stay awake {after working all night} with Jaxen while I took just Jake to the doctor.
Dr. S was super nice, took a look around his eye. . . Yes, Jacob let him touch his eye!. . . and said it was definitely pink eye. We went over my questions and concerns about the eye drops and he asked to see them. Dr. S was shocked to see that the nurse practitioner at the Take Care Clinic prescribed such a harsh eye drop. Apparently, the pH of the medication was totally different than the eye. Which would be okay for you and me, but to Jacob, Dr. S said it would feel like sandpaper and fire in his eye. Hence the reaction and fighting I got when I put them in his eye.
After talking it out, the doctor thought it would be better just to let the pink eye run it's course but after some more thought decided to give him an oral antibiotic, didn't want him to pass it to his baby brother or big sister! It's not the best medicine, ideally the eye drops are the best and fastest when it comes to getting rid of the pink eye. But being a parent himself, he understands the conflict us as parents have with torturing our kids, even if it's what's best for them. So I've probably scared Jacob for life and he'll probably never be able to do eye drops again!! I was warned that the oral medicine will take longer but it's easier for a three-year-old to take. . . making it the best option.
So for the next 7 days, Jacob is must take his oral antibiotic twice a day with food, warm wash cloth on the eye, keep eye free of gunk, and Tylenol as needed. The antibiotics will allow him to attend school later in the week. If it's still swollen next Monday we go back to the doctor and make a new approach. . . which is beyond my pediatrician. He said we would come in for another office visit and he would be making phone calls. . . and Jacob would have to see an eye specialist at Children's Mercy to make sure that there isn't a foreign object in or trauma to the eye.
Praying that's not the case. . . :-| Thank goodness for Walmart's $4 prescriptions. . . Jacob's had 2 prescriptions filled in 3 days!
Well there's your update. . . my babies are in bed and I'm headed there now!

Cheer Videos
Here are a couple videos I got of Chloe while she was cheering on Saturday. She's still a little nervous in front of a crowd and she's really tired . . . This was also the first time with the pom-poms! I hope you enjoy!
Where has August gone?
I cannot believe that August is almost over! Things have been so incredibly busy getting the kids back into school routines along with balancing extra-curricular activities. Here it is, Saturday Night or Sunday morning. . . whatever you want to call it. Babies are in bed, Daddy's at work, and I am sitting here at the computer - still. It's 2:30am and I think I have most of my Girl Scout Newsletter and Parent Information typed up and ready to go for registration night on Wednesday. All that's left is an activity or coloring sheet for the girls. Let's take a look back on this crazy week. . .
Sunday, August 14th
I started working my last week of overnights, resetting the Toy Dept for Christmas. And as much as I love resetting Toys, this reset was by far the absolute worse! We fought store planning (going through a mini-remodel to make our aisle wider), the floor crew (had to strip and wax the floors once the counters were moved), and we fought the modular/floor plans. After 5 days of overnights with a crew of 5 people, it's still not right but it's as close as I can get it. Good luck to the next person!
With me overnights, Jerry got the night off. I think he really enjoyed the time away from work.
Monday, August 15th
Worked overnights, then had a Wic Appt at 9:45am. It was a long morning and I was tired once I finally got home and to bed. But sleep was short lived - Chloe had to be at the football field at 6:00pm for cheer practice. Which I'm glad we put her in, she really likes it and I'm surprised, because I didn't think she would! She still has a long way to go before she's good but all the other girls either did it last year or has an older sister who did it in years prior, so she's doing good for being the only newbie! Heck, even Jacob knows the cheers. . . "Hey Vikings! Fight, Fight, Fight!!" :-) Speaking of Jake, this was the day he smacked his head against the wall and got a ginormous goose egg on his head!
Tuesday, August 16th
Worked overnights and when I got home I was able to sleep! I believe this was the day that Jaxen climbed out of his walker all by himself, making us raise the setting so he can't!! Getting close to having to raise the exersaucer too. He can almost get himself out of it!
Wednesday, August 17th
Jaxen officially turned 8 months old!! Worked overnights and came home to sleep! Chloe had her "Back-to-School" Night, where we got to go meet the teacher and take in her school supplies. Chloe was excited, she already knew her teacher from last year and knew exactly where her classroom was. We all liked her teacher, and with my new schedule, I was able to sign-up to help out with the Christmas Party and Valentine's Party! That I am excited about!
I also had a table at "Back-to-School" Night for Girl Scouts. We passed out information about our meetings and registration night. We had a ton of girls and parents interested in Girl Scouting. . . I am super excited and nervous about that! I am happy all my hard work from last year payed off and Girl Scouting is coming back to the community. Nervous however because I had a lot of Juniors interested and if one of their parents don't step up, I am going to have 3 troops next year and I have never ran a Junior troop!
Thursday, August 18th
Chloe's 1st day of school!! I was able to get off work at 6:00am, so I could be home to get her off to school. She was nervous and barely ate any breakfast. When the bus came she was a pro at getting on and waving good-bye! I was able to sleep while she was at school and awoke in time to be waiting at the bus stop for her return! She had a good day and was ready to tell me everything!!
Chloe had cheer practice at the football field, where she got her uniform. After cheer practice we were going to go out to dinner to celebrate the first day of 1st grade; however, after cheer practice Chloe put gum in her mouth and bite down the wrong way on a loose tooth. Which jammed it into her gum and was causing her a lot of pain. . . she wanted it out and now! So we headed home to see if we could get the tooth out. After a lot calming her down, we were able to get dental floss wrapped around the bottom of the tooth and one quick pull the tooth was out. Chloe was grateful and happy!
After the tooth was out and the bleeding had stopped, we went to Applebee's to celebrate 1st grade AND the loss of a second tooth! After our meal, we headed to Walmart so I could buy bird seed and get some money for the tooth fairy's visit. With all that excitement, once we got home, I had to leave again for work! Jerry got to put everyone to bed and play tooth fairy!
Friday, August 19th
I pulled into the driveway Friday morning just as the bus was picking Chloe up. . . I got to yell good-bye to her as she boarded the bus. Jacob wasn't up yet, so I grabbed a quick nap on the couch. Once he was up and everyone was ready we headed off to his preschool to meet his teacher and take in his school supplies. He makes me nervous. . . I'm not sure how well he will do the first day when we drop him off and LEAVE. We stayed a while and let him get used to the classroom and play with a few of his classmates. Hopefully, it will make it a little easier on him next Thursday when he officially starts school.
It was at school when Jerry and I noticed he had a swollen eye. I didn't see it that morning, but then again I was really tired! Thinking it was just another black eye he managed to give himself. . . we pushed it aside.
After visiting Jacob's school, we grabbed some Taco Bell and went shopping at the party store and Michael's for a little man's Birthday. I don't think we are going to do a big birthday party for him, he will have decorations and I will definitely make him a spiderman cake. Then it was a quick stop at Pet Co. and then home to get our girl off the bus!
I cannot for the life of me figure out what we did Friday night. . .
Saturday, August 20th
This is where the original post started. . . I didn't post it last night because I was super tired and not sure if anything made sense!!
Today (or yesterday, however you look at it!) has been one heck of a day. It all started off at 6:30am, who gets up at 6:30am on a Saturday?!?, apparently Cheerleaders and Football players. Chloe had her first official Cheer leading event this morning. It was a football jamboree at Adrian, MO. . . it was only a 'for fun' event but it was good practice for her. And it was a beautiful morning, I was a little concerned about it because of the horrible storm that went through here last night. Anyways, Jacob and I went with Chloe to her jamboree - Jerry and Jaxen stayed home sleeping. And really the only reason I woke Jacob was to check on his eye. . . and boy was I glad I did. First thing this morning his eye was swollen shut and it has a little bit of junk holding it together. So he got a warm washcloth and was up and about with us.
After the Football Jamboree, Chloe and I took Jacob straight to the Walgreen's Take Care Clinic. Our pediatrician isn't open on the weekends and I really wanted him seen today. . . and I'm glad we did. The doctor said that Jacob most likely had Conjunctivitis or Pink Eye and put him on eye drops. Now pink eye can be both viral and bacterial. And the eye drops will only work if it's a bacterial infection. . . we should start seeing immediate relief. However, if it's a viral infection it will have to run it's course and we will have 7 to 10 days of this. And she did mention that if we didn't see any relief at all, to take him to an eye doctor so they can make sure nothing is in his eye. I am totally dreading that because he barely lets me examine his eye, what is he going to do for a doctor?!?! They'd have to knock him out! But either way, he's on medicine for the pink eye and will be able to start school on Thursday without fear of passing it around to everyone.
After a 2 1/2 hour wait at the doctor's office, off we went to Walmart to fill Jacob's prescription. . . another 45 minute wait. Can you tell it's been a long day?!?!
Sunday, August 21st
Today has been a lazy, cranky day for everyone. I am hoping Jaxen takes a nap soon so that I can get things accomplished around here!! But it doesn't look like Chloe's going to let that happen.
Tonight is bath night for all the littles, tomorrow starts Chloe's first full week of school, my last full week of working in a Walmart Store, and Jacob's first ever first day of school!! Hopefully, I can keep you updated along the way!! Please hang tight, it's going to be a wild ride as we all get use to my new job and it's hours, and our new school routine!!

Explorer
As of 8am this morning, the Explorer is back! Jerry walked into the DMV and got the darn thing registered and licensed. It's been a long road with the Explorer and it started long before our January accident. I'm so glad that we are back to being a two-car family. . . it's been about 3 years since we've had two legal, working vehicles.
The Explorer has failed inspection two re-registration years in a row {making it four years in total}. The first time it failed we were able to find someone to pass it under the table. I know, it sounds really bad but it's what we had to do at the time. And the only reason why it failed was because it squeaked. . . No one could figure out the squeaking. And believe me, lots of friends looked at it. And no amount of WD-40 was making the squeaking stop.
Just before the accident the Explorer failed inspection again. This time the squeaking was so bad, no one would pass it. However, in taking it to a million inspection stations we were able to find out what the squeaking was. But before we could fix it, the accident happened. And since it was our only working vehicle, we spent our time and money into getting another reliable, fuel friendly family car.
Six months later, I get a new job offer and one that *almost* requires us to have two vehicles. Otherwise, our Sundays and Mondays would look like this:
And the only difference between our new schedule and our schedule now is Saturday and Sunday will be crazy instead of Monday and Tuesday. Then with the new schedule I have FOUR days OFF with my husband & kids {even though the kids are in school}. Which opens up the possibility of class parties, field trips and classroom Mom! I'm so totally stoked about that! I'm finally going to get to be a mom who is home when the kids get on and off the bus. :-)
So getting back on track - Jerry spent the last couple weeks fixing and replacing the driver's side door, mirror and window. And changed out the ball joints on the driver's side, which amazingly stop all squeaking! It was a lot of work and sweaty days for him, but in the end he did it. Thursday evening after I got home from work we took the Explorer in for an inspection. . . with fingers cross and nervous hearts outside. . . the Explorer passed on it's first try! We were so happy and Jerry was totally proud of himself {as he should be}! I don't think he slept much Thursday night because he was up bright and early. I think he just wanted to license it before anyone could change their minds! :-)
And a few hours after Jerry left for work today I noticed that he took to the Explorer instead of the Freestyle. :-) That's how proud he is of his hard work. And as proud as he is of himself, I am even prouder of him! He worked his tail off to make things easier for us, which in turn takes away one more fear I had about taking and starting the new job at the Distribution Center.
I ♥ you Jerry!! You did an awesome job fixing the Explorer!

- 3:00am - Mommy up to get ready for work and get three kids in the car.
- 3:15am - Out the door, taking the kids to my sister-in-laws house.
- 3:30am - Drop the kids off at my sister-in-laws house and get myself to work.
- 4:00am - I have to be art work.
- 5:30am - Jerry gets off of work and goes to pick up the kids.
- Jerry sleeps while watching the kids - and on Monday gets Chloe on and off the school bus.
- 3:30pm - Jerry and the kids come to work and get me.
- 5:00pm - Kids and I take Jerry to work.
- . . . Repeat.

No-Tax Weekend
Wow! We have spent a ton of money this weekend - thank goodness for the Savings Account! This weekend was 'no-tax' weekend in Missouri. Which means that school supplies, computers, clothes, and diapers are all tax free! Since moving to Kansas City (Sedalia/Pettis County doesn't participate in it) we have always taken advantage of the No -Tax Holiday. It saves us quite a bundle in back to school shopping - especially when added to the 10% Walmart Employee Discount. And Jerry and I save for months to afford no-tax shopping, but with 3 kids we really can't afford not to participate in the tax free holiday. The following is how we spent 5 hours and just over $2,000!
Jerry used some of his school money to get a new laptop, now he isn't tied around home - he can take it with him if we go somewhere or visit family. Which makes it super nice and convenient. Now to keep the kids and dogs away from it. . . that's the hard part! I'm so glad his schooling paid for the laptop, no way I would have saved enough for a laptop and school supplies/clothes! {SO yeah, didn't really spend 2,000 of our own money since about half of it was the computer but it sounds good! :o)} On the computer alone we got a $79.70 Discount and saved $67.55 in taxes for a total savings of $147.25! I consider that a score! So this year we replaced both the desktop and laptop - we should be good for a couple years, hopefully!!
And I know I said it before but we took full advantage of this weekend. . . Normally, it's all about the kids and their needs but this year Jerry and I saved enough money to splurge on us too! Jerry and I got new clothes, lunch boxes and work boots to go along with our normal socks and underwear splurge. Jerry got about 11 $3.00 shirts and I got 8 $2.00 t shirts and 2 pairs of Blue Jeans.
Of course it was the kids that hit the jackpot. Many of their clothes were on clearance. I don't get my employee discount on clearance merchandise but I still get them tax free, so it was nice to get shirts at $2 and $3! Especially since they grow out of them so fast and will need more next year!
Besides all her 1st grade school supplies, Chloe hauled in a whooping 8 t-shirts, 3 outfits, 2 purple dresses, 4 blue jeans, 1 pair of khakis, a pajama, a ladybug raincoat, 3 Hello Kitty socks, a pair of Hello Kitty tights, 14 pairs of underwear, Hello Kitty sneakers, and Hello Kitty dress shoes!! The theme was Hello Kitty this year. . . Everything was Hello Kitty!! I had to eventually say no, because she would have gone on forever!!
Jacob had fun shopping with Daddy for his school supplies!! {Jerry took Jacob and I took Chloe - it's so much easier if we both a tackle a list. Because with two kids going in different directions I get flustered and end up forgetting something!} Jacob ended up going with a theme - Mario!! Definitely his Daddy's son! Jacob didn't need as many school supplies but he definitely kept up with Chloe in the clothes department. Jacob hauled in 12 t-shirts, 4 pairs of pants, 3 Blue Jeans, a raincoat, and 20 pairs of socks!
And don't think that Jaxen was just around for the ride!! Diapers are tax-free this weekend also, so like every year, we take the opportunity to stock up on a diapers!! Jaxen is currently in a size 3 diaper, but since we don't know how much longer he will be in that size, we bought one package of size 3's and two packages of size 4's plus a huge box of baby wipes!! This household has never been without baby wipes in the 6 years Chloe's been alive!! Baby Wipes are every parents 'Must Have'!! Besides the diapers, Jaxen also got a pair of tennis shoes {he refuses to wear socks and shoes, this is going to be a problem come winter if we don't get him used to them now!}, 3 long sleeve rompers and 2 long sleeve / long pants outfits. Jax needs winter clothes and not much is out there for warmth right now. So I'm afraid I will have to shop for him another time. He is also going to need a winter coat - the other two got new winter coats at the end of last year so they should be good.
So with that huge back to school shopping spree, I saved $64.52 with my discount and $51.42 in taxes. I know that's nothing compared to the amount we had to spend ($688.83) but it helped a lot because it's stuff they would have needed anyways!! I think it's time to start saving for next year!! I'll take donations!! LOL
It's a good thing we save up for months for this weekend because then on top of all that, I still had to shop for groceries. . . Price Chopper ($34.00), Walmart ($209.36) AND Sam's Club ($287.47)! Major ouch on the pocket book, but I think we are going to be eating and dressing like rock stars for a while!! :-) Thank goodness for the 'No-Tax' Weekend! My little family had a total savings of $263.19 - just by shopping this weekend!
Now back to penny pinching and saving for next year!! :-)

Blessing in disguise?!
Okay, so I'm really, really nervous about this new job move. I totally have it made in the position that I am in. I hate walking away from a job that I love! But after days and days of mind boggling thoughts, I believe the pros out way the cons!
Pros.
Also, today we went and registered Chloe in cheerleading. . . so I am officially a cheer-mom! She is totally stoked, she got to try on a uniform {for sizes} and everything! So my schedules getting full again!! Starting tomorrow - Monday and Wednesdays until school starts - Chloe has Cheer practice on the school football field. Once school starts practices move to Tuesday and Thursday - which are better for us anyways! Only have to figure out how to get her to and from the games that fall on Saturdays. . . because Jerry and I will both be working. Hopefully, another mom will help me out with that. . . if not oh well, it's just for fun anyways. :-)
So begins my crazy, busy life as mommy!! Wish me luck. . . I will have 2 kids in school!! Splitting my time between work, preschool, first grade, mommy, cheerleading, girl scouts and wife! Poor Jerry's gonna get left out I'm afraid! Oh wait!! We will have Thursday and Friday without 2 of the 3 kids!! :o)
Pros.
- Only working 3 days a week - Saturday, Sunday, Monday
- Having 4 days off with Jerry - currently we have no days off together
- More time with my kids.
- Shorter commute to work - less gas
- Off by 330pm on the days that I do work
- Off for doctor's appointments
- Off for most Girl Scout events and meetings
- Available for Chloe's school parties and field trips
- Jacob can go to preschool - simply wasn't an option before.
- Available for Jacob's school parties and field trips
- WAY more money! Over $800 a month more.
- No responsibility - do my job and go home
- Giving up a job I love for one I'll probably hate
- Working in the freezer - negative 52 degrees!!
- Stuck in the same position for 6 months - at least!
- Giving up my weekends off - no trips to Iowa once the kids are in school
- Being at work at 4am - Ugh!
- Jerry and I overlap an hour and a half Sunday and Monday morning. . . have to pay a baby sitter
- Jerry and I work opposite shifts so the 3 days we do work are going to be VERY long days
- Still only have 1 working vehicle.

2 week Update. . .
It's been a LONG two weeks and I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. I've had a lot of things going on!! Like kid/scout stuff and inventory stress at work. Plus Jerry and I have had a lot of major decisions to make. I've been wanting to update for days now, but my minds just not been into it. Hopefully, I can get you caught up a little bit tonight.
Monday, July 18th
My littlest niece turned 4!! Happy Birthday Emily!
Tuesday, July 19th
??? I have no idea what we did this day.
Wednesday, July 20th
I got to work and Jerry started spasing out my cell phone. So when I got a chance to call him back, he had great news. The Walmart Distribution Center called and they had a job position open and they needed my transfer request before 3pm. I went straight to it and had my personnel office fax a copy of my transfer request to the DC. However, according to my personnel manager, the fax wasn't going through. {I feel she was sending to the wrong number on purpose because they got the first transfer request just fine. But since that one was expired, I had to send another copy. And since they had a position for me, all of a sudden the fax wouldn't work. Very suspicious!!}
So after fighting the personnel office, I gave up, had them give me a copy of it and I drove it down to Harrisonville on my lunch break. The personnel manager was very nice and took the time to talk to me. It was a very positive meeting and she promised to call me by Monday.
Thursday, July 21st
After work, Jerry and I looked at a house that we wanted with a realtor. We both really liked it and set things up for a meeting to make an offer.
Friday, July 22nd
It was a long day of shopping and packing for me!! Chloe and I had Girl Scout Camp!! I'm planning on sharing a bigger seperate post to this event so watch for it on another day!
Saturday, July 23rd
Girl Scout Camp ended at noon and when the parents arrived we had a short flag, awards, bridging ceremony! The girls and I had a lot of fun; hopefully, next year will bring even better camping adventures!
After camp, we went to David's Bridal to pick up Joanna's wedding saches. It was a long couple of days and I was happy to be home with my boys!!
Sunday, July 24th
Had a meeting with the Realtor to do house paperwork and make an offer. We got a lot of good information from this meeting but also got a feeling that this house wasn't going to work out.
Jaxen learned to stand up in his crib! And he decided to play instead of going to bed!!
Monday, July 25th
??? Besides going to work, I have no idea what we did this day.
Tuesday, July 26th
Jerry's 30th Birthday!! It was a good day, we celebrated Daddy!! He got spoiled with presents from the kids and ice cream cake.
But on his birthday, we got bad news from Realtor. . . the house that we made an offer to wasn't going to work. The seller actually decided not to sell at all. So back to square one on the house hunting. . . :-(
Wednesday, July 27th
Day before Inventory. . . worked 7am until 10pm {14 hours}.
I hadn't heard from the Walmart DC yet so I called them on the way to work. The lady I needed to talk to wasn't in the office and they took a message for her to call me back. 14 minutes later, she called me back. And the news was great. . . she was faxing me a job offer. And let me tell you, it was a total shock because once my transfer request is sent and I job comes open, I am to be interviewed for the position and then offered a position. I never got an interviewed, I skipped right to the job offer! :-)
And truth be told, I was nevous about the job offer, ideally it is NOT what I want to be doing but it is a good raise and better hours/days off! And the new position requires us to have a babysitter. . . because Jerry and I overlap by an hour and a half. They offered me Frozen, Dairy, Deli Replisment Lift Driver working Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 4am until 3:30pm making $17.00 an hour (I only make $11.15 an hour now, working 7am - 4pm five days a week). So roughly it's $340 more a paycheck working less days and hours!!
Jerry and I spent tons of time weighing the pros and cons of my job offer. I hardly slept a wink. . . the stress of making the wrong choice was killing me. I'm really good at supporting other when their plans don't go as planned but I'm not good at being the one to make those decisions!!
Thursday, July 28th
Walmart Inventory. . . worked 6:45am until 6:10pm {10.5 hours}. And for my Walmart friends, our Inventory was .72 which was up from last years .57. However, this year we were only a 9 month Inventory so it was going to happen. The Toy department and Furniture department did better than years past, so that's all I'm worried about!! In fact, it's the only numbers I can control! So, Go me!
My sister-in-law called around 9pm and said she would help us out and watch the kids for us, so that I could accept the job offer at the Distribution Center. I didn't sleep at all!! Still tossed and turned about my pending decision. . . didn't even eat dinner because I was stressing!
Friday, July 29th
Day after Inventory. . . worked 7am until 5:30pm {9.5 hours}.
After a lot of thinking and talking to friends and family, I accepted the job offer at DC. I felt a thousand times better once the fax was sent. . . I am going to miss my friends and job now but I think in the long term I will be successful and happier at the Distribution Center. . . sure my weekends are gone, but I get to spend 4 whole days off with my husband and kids!! Jerry and I get NO days off together unless I take a day off during the week.
Saturday, July 30th
Today, I've relaxed and watched "Bring It On" movies with Chloe. She's really into cheerleading, tomorrow's the day we go register her for cheerleading. I'm nervous as to what her schedule and my new working schedule will bring us, but like all things we will take it all one step at a time!

Sunday Update
It's been a crazy week!! Let's see how much of it I can remember!
July 17, 2011
HAPPY 7 MONTHS, JAXEN RYDER!!
July 16, 2011
Saturday was my domestic chores day! And Jerry started his work week.
July 15, 2011
Family Night!! Friday night was by far my favorite night this week. I came home from a hard days work and out of nowhere Jerry wanted to go to the movies. So after a nice relaxing shower and some clean non-walmart related clothes we took the kids to the movies. We left the house thinking we were going to see Transformers 3 because Harry Potter was selling like hotcakes around here. But when we got to the theater they still had tickets for the 3D showing. We were there early enough to get great sets and a couple tubs of popcorn and sodas. The kids loved it!! **Chloe was super happy because she didn't want to see Transformers, she wanted Harry Potter.** The movie was AWESOME!! Totally loved it. Some parts scared Chloe a little, like when the snake looks like it jumping out of the screen at you! But all in all, we all enjoyed the movie and all the kids quietly sat through a 2+ hour movie!
**One a side note, Chloe's first movie in the movie theaters was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so it just seemed fitting to take her to this one! lol**
After the movies, we headed to Walmart for milk and baby food. And picked up McDonald's for dinner. It was a fantastic night, fun had by all. It's not every day that I can get all three kids to behave during an outing. Someone always has a moment, there were no moments Friday night which made it fun - instead of being mean parents we were able to spoil them a little!
July 14, 2011
Thursday night, I came home to everyone in a good mood. Jerry had a headache and took a little nap to make it go away. I gave the kids a small snack when I got home so I could make lasagna. I wasn't sure how long it was going to take to make and bake. We ended up eating around 7ish - good thing I gave the kids a snack!! The kids gobbled it up after I assured them that I wasn't feeding them cat food. {Too many Garfield cartoons?!?!}

Wednesday night after work, we did yard work. It was by far the coolest night of the week and the grass needed cut badly! I mowed the yard and Jerry weed eated, while the kids played and watered the plants. It was a lovely family evening outside and I'm so glad we got it done before the 100+ heat came back!

Thursday night, I came home to everyone in a good mood. Jerry had a headache and took a little nap to make it go away. I gave the kids a small snack when I got home so I could make lasagna. I wasn't sure how long it was going to take to make and bake. We ended up eating around 7ish - good thing I gave the kids a snack!! The kids gobbled it up after I assured them that I wasn't feeding them cat food. {Too many Garfield cartoons?!?!}

Good, No make that GREAT News!!
Okay, so I know my facebook friends have found me randomly posting odd, happy, lucky-changing statuses on my account. And after months and month of hard work. . . it's paid off!! I am so proud to announce OUR GREAT NEWS!!
We haven't gotten a house yet and are still in the early stages of all this, but our luck has turned and life is finally looking good from where we are sitting. {Not that life was bad, but Jerry and I have been handed our fair share of curve balls in our 7 years together!}
Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayer as we continue on this crazy journey!! I will update you all as I see fit. Definitely don't want to jinx any of it! :-)
Crawler Extraordinaire!
Crawler Extraordinaire!
Wowza. I can't believe it's been a while since I last updated! A lot has been happening around here and before the month is up, a lot more will happen.
First and for most, we have a crawler in the family! Jaxen has been cruisin' for a week now but he's finally got it down. With this accomplishment, Jaxen has become my earliest crawler. {According to the baby books. . . Chloe - 7months, 11days ~ Jacob - 7months, 23days ~ Jaxen - 6months, 24days} I think it's time to start baby-proofing the living room!!
Other than crawling, Jaxen has been adding a lot of other "firsts" to the baby book. He's diet finally consists of more food than formula. Which is a major pain some days when we are on the go-go-go, no longer will just packing a bottle do. I am lucky that he is such a good eater. I don't think I've found anything he refuses to eat.

We've also started him on snackie stuff that teaches him how to chew. These Graduate Puffs are awesome because they dissolve in his mouth, so if for some chance he swallows it before chewing it completely he doesn't get choked up. And they are by far, Jaxen's favorite food.
So here he is, the man of the hour. Tomorrow he will be 7 months old. . . Doesn't. seem. possible. at. all.

Welcome to the family, Brixton!
I just had to post this - many of my friends and family believe in the power of prayer. And a few more prayers can't hurt. . .
My cousin Faith had her baby this morning, four and a half weeks early because of complications with preeclampsia. Preeclampsia causes high blood pressure and major swelling. The only cure for it is the delivery of the placenta. It is the most common of the dangerous pregnancy complications; it may affect both the mother and the unborn child.
Faith went to labor and delivery at 5:30pm on Thursday for a 24 hour observation. By noon on Friday they had induced labor and broke her water. Brixton Keith Jones was born Saturday, July 9th at 3:34am, weighing 4 pounds 9 ounces.
Last I had heard, Faith was in mandatory recovery and couldn't have any visitors for 24 hours. Brixton went to the NICU and at 1pm - according to Daddy - he's "looking great and doing better".
I ask everyone to please keep their family in your prayers! I know exactly how she's feeling, it's so hard to have your baby in the NICU. Hopefully, I will post a picture of momma and baby as soon as Faith is feeling better and able to post one!
