So Blessed

We are so blessed as a family to have so many people who care about us.  Nothing is going un-noticed - Jerry and I appreciate everything that everyone has done for or bought us.

Today was an awesome day, it reminded me to count my blessings and be thankful for everything I have!  Not to mention, these simple acts of pure kindness made me feel really special --

How beautiful are these?!?!  These are the flowers that were delivered for Jerry and I from our friends at the Walmart Distribution Center!

These alone brightened my day!  And if that wasn't more than enough - my wonderful neighbor, Nina and her husband brought us over some dinner and dessert - just because.

I didn't get a "before" picture because we were so excited to eat it!  But here's the "after" picture of our dinner. . . Brisket, Baked Beans and Macaroni and Cheese!!

Followed by a delicious dessert!!  Everything was perfectly, mouth-watering, delicious!!  I am so thankful for our neighbors. . . especially after the 'you-know-what's' we had at the last place!!

Stocking Up on sales!

What's a mom to do while sitting around bored on Maternity Leave?   Okay, maybe not exactly bored but I feel like I don't get anything accomplished during the day and that's frustrating.  I'm beginning to think I will have to work most of my life because I can't stand just sitting around.

Anyways, back to the point!  Our local grocery store has had some pretty awesome sales this week and of course, they are such good deals that they limit the quantity that you can get.  SO, I go into town everyday and hit the grocery store AND Walmart to double my amazing deals.  Here's what I've been able to get this week and I still have tomorrow to go for the sale!

Pepsi Products {12packs, 24oz 6-packs, or 12oz 8-packs} are currently 4/$10 with a limit of 4.  Which makes them $5.00 a case. . . currently, Walmart has the cases on sale for $5.98.  We buy Pepsi products basically every week, so it was a definite stock up!!  Just in this picture alone, I spent $47.50 and saved $45.41!  Not pictured is the 12pack in the frig, the two 24oz 6-packs, and the two 12oz 8-packs in the garage refrigerator.  {Which would bring  my total to spent $60 and saved $57.36!}

*And I know I will get 8 more 12packs tomorrow after Chloe's ballgame before the sales end!*

The 10.5 oz bags of Cheetos were on sale for $1.49 with a limit of 3.  So far we bought 6 bags of them at the grocery store, spent $8.94 and saved $12.

Not Pictured - Country Mart has Oscar Mayer Lunchables 10 for $10, which we comp-ed at Walmart {$1.58}, spending $20 and saving $11.60.

Not Pictured - Nabisco Chips Ahoy! Cookies are on sale for $1.49. {Now last week they were on sale for $1.99, so we had a couple packages of them already}  Chloe talked me into 6 more packages at the grocery store - spent $8.94 and saved $13.20.

Today, I walked into the grocery store with the kids and found the fruit snacks are also on sale today and tomorrow.  These packages of fruit snacks were $0.99 with a limit of 4.  And on top of it all - I had a couple of coupons for $1.00 off 2 packages.  So I spent $1.96 for all 4, saved $2 in coupons, and saved $7.84 in the store ad.

Grand Totals: SPENT $99.84 and SAVED $104!
Now, I know that's not an "Extreme Coupon" episode - but I think I did pretty amazing this week.
I'm already looking forward to the new ads that start on Wednesday, hopefully they have some more deals that I can stock up on!

March Already!

Friday, February 24th
Jerry took Jacob to preschool for Dad's & Donuts.  Chloe's Spring Pictures.  Mommy got to relax at home with Jaxen!  Susan watched the boys after preschool while Jerry and I snuck in a movie!

Saturday, February 25th - Work.

Sunday, February 26th - Work.  23 weeks pregnant. . . time is flying!

Monday, February 27th - Aunt Karey's Birthday!

Tuesday, February 28th - Story time at the Library with the boys.

Wednesday, February 29th -
We did a lot of shopping/browsing in Kansas City. . . Places like Harbor Frieght, Toys R Us, and Orscheln's. We ended up having to come back home so Jerry could get the Explorer to go back and pick up the crib I bought at Toys R Us!!  They had a discounted crib display that they were wanting to get rid of. . . I stopped to look at it and I got suckered into it and a kids power wheel!  :-)  The crib was originally $179.99, discounted to $90.90.  While the Power Wheel was originally $249.99, discounted to $70.04.  Jerry ended up telling the sales manager that I would buy both if they marked one down farther. . . and he did!  :-)  The Power Wheel was marked to $50 and the Crib was $90. . . I scored both for $140!  Not too shabby!

While Jerry got the crib, the kids and I shopped the sales at Price Chopper.  It ended up being a good day and we got a few things we needed like Mole Repellers and tomato / strawberry bulbs for the yard.  Jerry had a lot of fun at Harbor Freight looking at the tools.

Jerry also found the air compressor he wants.   Just have to get someone in a truck down here so we can haul an air compressor home for Jerry and move the freezer from the garage to the basement for me!!   :-)

Thursday, March 1st -
After grocery shopping, we stayed around the house and got things done.  We cleaned, did laundry, burned trash, etc.  And since we got our taxes back we also had propane delivered. . . hoping to make it to the middle of summer when the price goes down before we have to fill again!

Friday, March 2nd - Joanna came to visit while she was on vacation!  After I got Jacob dropped off at school, we went and watched Chloe during her cup stacking tournament.  :-)  It was a lot of fun!

Once all the kids got home from school, we hung out for a while before going to dinner and Walmart.

Saturday, March 3rd - Work.

Looking at the dog park from the back porch!

Forget buying a fence stretcher. . . we have the redneck version - the Explorer!

Once she got home from school, Chloe helped out too!

However, he would rather stand on the chair.

Our Sun Room.

Our dining room table. . . room for everyone!

Jaxen can even join us at the dinner table, instead of his high chair.

Productive Week

I apologize now, this is going to be a short post.  It's 9:30pm and I have got to work tomorrow morning, so I am needing to head to bed.  But as a quick unwinder, I'm going to get a post in.

This week was jammed packed. . . I didnt' even get the laundry done!  We did however get a ton of other things done:
  • Got my scout room unpacked
  • Burned all the cardboard boxes and random crap
  • Kid's / Jerry's Dentist Appointment
  • Got propane delivered
  • Put up the dog's fence - I love it! They hate it!  :-)
  • Paid our 1st house payment
  • Grocery / Birthday Party Shopped
  • Got to the bank to get the car titled correctly
  • Got a new dining room table - re-arranged the dining room & sun room to fit everything in.
  • Plus, Jerry fixed a lot of little things on my Honey-Do List like tightening the knobs on the bathroom drawers, fixed our thermostat in the master bedroom, etc.  {I had him all over the place fixing little things that required tools I didn't know were to find!}
All-in-all it was a good week.  Dog fence is up and the dogs are outside all day!  I love it.  It took Jerry and I almost 6 hours to get the whole thing up and it's still needing a little work, but it's up!  Which is a HUGE accomplishment.  Because since finishing, it's been pouring down rain NON-STOP!  And is suppose to continue raining through Monday.  Thank goodness it's not snow!

I am currently in the process of uploading 60+ pictures to the Picasa Web Album.  So I will try and get a picture post in this weekend.  But please forgive me if I don't get to it. . . NEXT week is a BIG, EXCITING, BUSY week for me.  Chloe's birthday is on Tuesday {have to make cupcakes for her class}, Girl Scout Meeting on Wednesday, Gender Ultrasound on Thursday, Jacob's Valentine's Party at school and Chloe's Birthday Sleepover on Friday, followed by the family birthday party on Saturday!!  Before having to work Sunday and Monday. . . When is my day off!?!?!?  Ah!!

What a week. . .

Wow!  I got tons of cleaning down this week.  Not that the house was trashed, but since it's still new I'm trying super hard to keep it in prime condition!  Didn't get too much moved into the house from the garage but I've been flying as a single parent all week AND taking care of Jerry while he recovers from his dentist appointment.  That alone should be remarkable!
Monday, 01.23.2012
  • Called Pediatrician's Office and reschedule Jaxen's 2nd Flu Shot
  • Called the Dentist Office to see what Jerry could take for pain before his appointment. . . they called in a prescription for an antibiotic and vicodin.
  • Picked up Jerry's prescriptions after work.
  • Ordered Baby #4's Baby Book - should be here this weekend!
  • Got all the trash to the curb for pickup OR get to the burn pit to burn.
Tuesday, 01.24.2012 - Jerry came home early from work and got about 4 hours of sleep before I got him up for the dentist appointment.  After the appointment he came home and went straight to bed - only getting up to rinse out his mouth and change the gauze.  Poor guy was miserable.
  • Jerry's Dentist Appointment at 830am {4-hours!!}
  • Alex's Birthday party at 6pm
    • Between Jerry's Appointment, Alex's Birthday Party, taking care of the boys, and getting Chloe off the bus {since I have to be standing outside when the bus comes} - I really had little to no time to get a lot of things done. . . Kind of bummed but I can't complain - right now, Jerry has it much worse than me!
  • With the kids' help - I took Christmas decorations to the carriage shed.
  • Trimmed Lucy's butt
Wednesday, 01.25.2012 - Jerry spent most of the day in bed, dead to the world!  I kept him comfortable with ice packs and watching the time so he didn't miss a dose of medicine.  Jerry finally came out of the bedroom around dinner time so I could clean the bedroom and bathroom.  And I got him to eat 2 containers of yogurt for dinner.
  • Jaxen's Flu Shot - 830am
  • Grocery Shopping with the boys
  • 2 complete loads of laundry folded and put away.
  • Ran the dishwasher 3 times - washing all the dishes being brought in from the garage.
  • Cleaned the "sun" room - including carpet cleaning.
  • Changed bedding.
  • Mopped the kitchen floor.
  • Cleaned the dining room.
  • Gathered Jerry's tools for a trip to the garage.
  • Cleaned the Master Bedroom.
  • Sanitized and mopped both upstairs bathrooms.
  • Cut Jacob's Hair.
  • Bath time for both boys.
  • Vacuumed the entire upstairs.
Thursday, 01.26.2012 - Jerry spent the morning on the couch and then all afternoon in bed.  The medicine makes him really sleepy.
  • Took Jacob to school / Picked Jacob up from school
  • Laundry - 1 load completed, 1 load in the washer, 1 load in the dryer
  • Cleaned and vacuumed downstairs
  • Cleaned the "playroom"
  • Cleaned the boys' room - Finally unpacked all their toys and books
  • Cleaned Chloe's room - Finally unpacked all her toys and books
  • Finish unpacking the extra toys to the playroom
  • Ordered Chloe's cupcake toppers for her classroom goodies - they should be here need week.
  • Cleaned the cat's room. . . got it so the dogs can't get to it and the kid's will take turns feeding them.
  • 31 Boxes out of the garage - only a bazillion left to go!
Friday, 01.27.2012 - Didn't sleep well last night, Jerry must have slept too much yesterday because he was up and down 100 times last night.  Jerry's been up most of the day, I think he's trying to get along without so much medicine.  He's planning on working this weekend, plus he will have the kids while I am at work and the vicodin makes him really sleepy.  The pain seems to be manageable with Tylenol and ice packs.  The swelling has gone down a lot!  He doesn't look like a chipmunk anymore!  He's also acting better - playing with the kids, snacking throughout the day, and getting some of his own To-Do List done.  It's so nice to see him coming back around to his old self. . . he's been in pain too long.

Besides having little sleep, I also woke up in a little bit of pain - I did a lot of moving and lifting of things yesterday, plus falling down the stairs carrying a box of Chloe's books didn't help anything!  My goal today is to finish up the loose ends that I started yesterday and then sit on my butt and relax. . . I have to work the next three days and it's hard enough without being in pain.  I will promise you all who are concerned. . . I will go to the doctor next week if I am still in pain after falling OR/AND if the pain gets worse, I will call or go immediately to the doctor.  With all that being said. . . here's what I've done today!
  • Took Jacob to school / Picked Jacob up from school
  • Enjoyed Mom's and Muffins at preschool!
  • Filled car up with gas - there is a nasty four letter word floating around - SNOW.
  • Carpet cleaned the sun-room - again!
  • Unpacked the Little People and moved the kids table to the sun-room.
  • Rearranged the toys in the toy room. . . didn't like how it ended up yesterday.
  • Laundry - Still on going. . . So far 10 loads this weekend and about 1 or 2 left to go. . . I told you I was behind from our sewer problems!!
  • Ran to Walmart for a few things we need to get us through the weekend. . . Jerry needed more yogurt and some anti-inflammatory medicine {after only one pill, he can open his mouth enough to eat a soft taco from Taco Bell! Yay
  • OTHER than all that. . . I have laid around, read a book and surfed the Internet while the kids played in their rooms most of the day.  It's like Christmas around here. . . they haven't seen some of these toys for 2 months!
Things still left to do - moving them to next weeks To-Do List.  **It's suppose to be nice and warm outside next week!!**
  • Get the poles in the ground for the dog fence.
  • Unpack the office/Girl Scout/sewing room.
    • Sew curtains for Chloe's Room
    • Sew curtains for the boys' room
  • Carpet Clean the boy's room.
  • Unpack more boxes from the garage. . .

Oi-Vey!

I feel like I am falling farther and farther behind on everything.  My things-to-do list keeps getting longer!  You'd think that since I'm off four days a week, I'd be able to make a dent in this place!  And in reality, I spend more time cleaning up and getting followed around by Jaxen all day.  I think I'm just going to have to lock him in his bedroom to play while I get some things accomplished!

We have been in our house exactly one month now.  And I have yet to unpack this house. . . 90% of our stuff is boxed out in the garage.  The only things in this house are the things that we need and use all the time.  My kitchen is about 85% unpacked. . . and if I need something I just go out to the garage and get it!, the bedding and towels are all unpacked, every one's clothes and the large furniture are in inside the house and that's about it!  My poor children have their Christmas toys and that's it!  Hehe, it's going to be like Christmas again when I get their packed boxes inside the house!  Horrible, I know!  But I just haven't felt like doing it.  But now I am thinking that I NEED to!  I want pictures on the walls!  I want to make this place 100% ours before I get to fat to do it!

So I figure if I write it all down, a day or week at a time. . . you will hold me accountable for it right?!  I need to get this place whipped into shape before Chloe's birthday party!

Things to get done this week {Now - 01.27.12}: - Small steps, one day at a time!
  • Call Pediatrician's Office and reschedule Jaxen's 2nd Flu Shot
  • Jerry's Dentist Appointment at 830am on Tuesday 01.24.12
  • If warm enough - get the poles in the ground for the dog fence.
  • Catch up/finish Mt. Laundry {so behind because of the sewer problems}
  • Alex's Birthday party on Tuesday 01.24.12
  • Vacuum downstairs
  • Change bedding {once the laundry is caught up}
  • Clean the "playroom" - finish unpacking the toys
  • Get all the trash to the curb for pickup OR get to the burn pit to burn.
  • Take Christmas decorations to the carriage shed.
  • Unpack the office/Girl Scout/sewing room
  • Vacuum the upstairs
  • Clean & Carpet Clean the Master Bedroom
  • Carpet Clean the boy's room
  • Empty the dishwasher and run another load
  • Trim Lucy's butt
  • Clean the dining room / gather Jerry's tools for a trip to the garage!
  • Mop the kitchen floor
  • Clean the "sun" room - including carpet cleaning.

Family Night!! Friday night was by far my favorite night this week. I came home from a hard days work and out of nowhere Jerry wanted to go to the movies. So after a nice relaxing shower and some clean non-walmart related clothes we took the kids to the movies. We left the house thinking we were going to see Transformers 3 because Harry Potter was selling like hotcakes around here. But when we got to the theater they still had tickets for the 3D showing. We were there early enough to get great sets and a couple tubs of popcorn and sodas. The kids loved it!! **Chloe was super happy because she didn't want to see Transformers, she wanted Harry Potter.** The movie was AWESOME!! Totally loved it. Some parts scared Chloe a little, like when the snake looks like it jumping out of the screen at you! But all in all, we all enjoyed the movie and all the kids quietly sat through a 2+ hour movie!

**One a side note, Chloe's first movie in the movie theaters was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so it just seemed fitting to take her to this one! lol**

After the movies, we headed to Walmart for milk and baby food. And picked up McDonald's for dinner. It was a fantastic night, fun had by all. It's not every day that I can get all three kids to behave during an outing. Someone always has a moment, there were no moments Friday night which made it fun - instead of being mean parents we were able to spoil them a little!

July 14, 2011
Thursday night, I came home to everyone in a good mood. Jerry had a headache and took a little nap to make it go away. I gave the kids a small snack when I got home so I could make lasagna. I wasn't sure how long it was going to take to make and bake. We ended up eating around 7ish - good thing I gave the kids a snack!! The kids gobbled it up after I assured them that I wasn't feeding them cat food. {Too many Garfield cartoons?!?!}

July 13, 2011
Wednesday night after work, we did yard work. It was by far the coolest night of the week and the grass needed cut badly! I mowed the yard and Jerry weed eated, while the kids played and watered the plants. It was a lovely family evening outside and I'm so glad we got it done before the 100+ heat came back!

July 12, 2011
I can't remember what I did Tuesday. . . Darn.

Typical Monday Madness around here.  Me work.  Kids.  Jerry work.

Saturday Whatnots

Dang! It's been another routine week here at the Daily Ranch.  Really nothing exciting to report!  I have no idea what we did this week... I can't even begin to give you a day to day update!

Monday 27th - I know I didn't get to bed until really late Sunday night - In fact, I seen 3am Monday!  I couldn't sleep, it's that way now, I can't seem to sleep if Jerry isn't home.  I stayed up late on the computer getting everything finished up for Girl Scout camp.  I ordered my patches and the rest of the craft projects that we needed.  When I finally got to sleep, I basically had to get up and go to work.  I knew it was going to be hell. . . it's always hell on Monday. . . and even worse after a 5 day vacation!

Tuesday 28th - I don't remember anything. . . my facebook quote was:  I have had a, "I'd really like to punch you in the face" kind of day.  I'm thinkin' that pretty much explains the day!  :o)

Wednesday 29th - Wednesday must have been just as good as Tuesday because I didn't even write a facebook status!

Thursday 30th - *Happy Anniversary to Aunt Karey and Uncle Alan!*  Ah, Thursday.  Thursday was a toughie.  I had to work and Jerry had a seminar he went to with a friend from work.  I didn't want him to go because I had a horrible, exhausting day and just wanted to curl up and sleep!!  But he went and was gone the whole evening.  My facebook page said:  Ugh. I'm mentally done with this day...  I was exhausted once I got the kids put down, I barely remember Jerry coming home.

Friday 1st - I was SO glad to leave work.  I came home from work with a HUGE stress headache.  I had put a pork roast in the crock pot the night before so we could have a nice family meal.  I barely got to enjoy it because my headache made me nauseous.  I fought the headache all night but I was able to get some quality family time in outside. . . Chloe and Jacob chalked on the sidewalk, Jaxen sat in his strolled watching, Jerry weeded and weed-eated the yard, and I mowed the grass.  After the yard work, we let the kids ride their bikes until the street lights came on and then we all loaded up in the car and got some Dairy Queen!

Jaxen got his first taste of "real" food.  We gave him a small plate of crock pot cooked potatoes. . . he loved it!!  He was so excited just to lay in it!  It was fun watching him explore the feeling and texture.  I was able to get a few pieces in his mouth, but for the most part all we did is play in it and throw the plate on the floor.

Saturday 2nd - Today's been weird.  My Dad called and asked us to look around in junk yards for a spare tire for his truck.  Most places closed early today because of the Holiday weekend. . . so we ran around to 2 different auto salvage places to check out their lots.  Of course, we didn't find anything useful.  On the way home we had Burger King for lunch and stopped by Price Chopper for sodas.  We've been home ever since, just chillin'.  Kids have played games, watched movies and I have gotten some Girl Scout financial forms finished up and ready to mail.  All-in-all it's been a good day.  I need to finish some things up around here.  Jaxen just went to bed.  And the kids and I are going to Grandma and Grandpa's house in the morning to pick up somethings I need for Girl Scout camp and get a little swimming in!

Counting Down / 2 Days!

My vacation is almost here.  And this might be my last update until vacation.  I'm so totally excited. . . it's only a 5 day break from everyday life, but it's a much needed one that's for sure!  I plan on enjoying my time with my kids and right now the only thing planned that isn't family related is Jaxen's doctor's appointment and my hour long Girl Scout meeting on Wednesday. . . but that's okay because we are getting ready for camping next month!

My family plans, still only penciled in because I don't want to HAVE to be anywhere, are tee ball, Zoo / Children's Farmstead, Library, Build-A-Bear, Water fun, Parks, and cookouts!  I just want to get out of the house and have fun with my kids!  After all it is summer vacation. . . and my next one is after Walmart's Inventory - July 30th thru August 5th. . . and that will be are last hoorah before Chloe's back in school.

Now time for you to enjoy some pictures from last weeks Tee-Ball Game. . . I love my family!

Kisses for Jacob

Lovin' Life

Okay here's a quick update for you. . . I don't really have too much time.  I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and I just got the kids in bed - so my eyelids are feeling heavy!!
  • Just uploaded the pictures and videos I took tonight up at the ball field.
  • Had to take Jerry to work tonight because we needed the car for Tee Ball!  Chloe had her second game tonight.  It was beautiful outside, a lot hotter than they said it was going to get.  But nonetheless. . . I had a blast watching a great tee ball game with my boys!
  • Taking Jerry to work means we have to pick him up at 5:30am. . . another reason I should be in bed!
  • Chloe has Tee Ball Games every night this week - except Friday.  :o)  Mommy heaven!  Be prepared for a lot of tee ball pictures!!
  • Start working overnights tomorrow night. . . plus side - I get tomorrow day off!

What a week it's been.

It's Sunday, May 1st!  I can't believe how fast this year has gone.  Next weekend is Mother's Day - and hopefully, sometime between now and then, Amanda has that baby of hers!  I think it's time she started sharing her lil' ninja with the rest of us!  Lol.  I can't wait to get the call that she's having the baby, I have a bag packed for her and the new baby.  It ready to go - just waiting for that phone to ring.  Keeping my fingers crossed that when she does go into labor, I am able to leave right away.  (Hopefully, Jerry's not at work with the car or I'm not on a field trip with Chloe's class!)

This past week I have gotten all the training that I've needed to take my Girl Scouts Camping!  After work on Monday, I went to Camping 101 (6pm-9pm), Thursday I went to Camping 102 (9am-4pm), and Saturday I went to CPR-[2 years certified] (8am-12pm) and First Aid Training-[2 years certified] (1pm-3pm).  Yay!!  Only training I have left is my Brownie Training and I can take it at anytime before the end of the year!

Other than working and training not much has been going on around here.  The weather cooperated a couple of days and we were able to get the garage cleaned out and some of our flowers and vegetables planted.  We really need to get the house with property that we have been looking at, because Chloe picked Corn as her veggie this year.  :o)  Of course, we are giving it a good try out front in our flower bed, but she knows the chances are slim.  We are so close to being able to place a bid for the other house and if we get it, I can't wait for next spring when we will be able to plant a real garden full of veggies!!!  Fingers crossed!!!  When it warms up outside I'll take some pictures of what we planted on Friday.  We still have a couple more things to plant, but it got dark outside and now it's not warm enough to go play in the moist dirt and water.

I added about 9 more pictures in the April Album. . . my camera is cleaned out and now we are on to the month of May!!

Make-over

Wow, look at that!  My blog got a totally new look.  I sat down just to browse new backgrounds so I could change ours after Easter and with a couple clicks it was done!  I think I found my new background source, this 'upgrade' was super easy to do!  I hope you all enjoy it!!

I'll be back later today for an Easter Update! So stay tuned...
