He's Ours!

So it's official, Jaxen is all ours!!  :-)

I received Jaxen's social security card in the mail last week and this morning, while I was in Health Department, I got an official copy of his birth certificate!  SO legally, I have all the paperwork that makes him MINE!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This morning brought about 5 inches of snow to the Kansas City area. . . and it's suppose to snow all day long, ending sometime tomorrow morning!  Around 5:20am the house phone AND my cell phone rang, it was a good thing I was already wake with Jaxen, otherwise, it would of scared the crap out of me!  It was a recording from the school's super-attendant telling me that Chloe was out of school today - our first official Snow Day!
We got to sleep in a little longer since we didn't have to wake Chloe to get her ready to get for school!  But we still had to get up and getting moving because Jaxen and I had a Wic appointment this morning.  I really didn't want to get out and drive in this crazy snow with Jaxen, but I called the Health Department and they were there and waiting.  And Jerry and I have already bought 2 larger containers of formula waiting for this appointment. . . so off we went.  And actually the roads weren't too terrible, I was glad Jerry was driving because of the other crazies out there.
Our Wic appointment went well, I still have a bit of weight to loose but it's still coming off. . . s-l-o-w-l-y!  However, Jaxen is packing the pounds now!  He now weighs 8 pounds 5 ounces!!  Which is awesome - 18 days ago we only weighed in at a measly 5 pounds 13 ounces!  And Jaxen is now 19 3/4 inches long!!  He's already growing up so fast!!  Somebody make my baby slow down!
After our Wic appointment, we headed to Walmart to get more formula.  Forgot how expensive it all is!!  Thank goodness for Wic!!  I also got a few books and a baby calendar. . . when we got home, Chloe helped me fill out the months and place the cute stickers on Jaxen's calendar.  Now we are just laying around relaxing, watching some TV, snuggling under blankets, and eating Cheetos.  :o)  Now that's a awesome Snow Day!!
Printing Pictures
I've spent the day off and on (between playing Mommy to 3 kids!) surfing the web, trying to find the right place to print all my pictures of Jaxen's birth.  I did a horrible job with Jacob's pictures and I'm sad to say that 90% of them never even got printed.  I promised myself to do a lot better this time around!  And now that I've found a few cool sites, I think I am going to go ahead and print some of Jacob's too.  At least to bring his baby book up to par!
At Snapfish.com - just by signing up I was able to get 20 free 4x6 photos printed and shipped straight to my house.  And by "like"-ing them through Facebook, I got a promo code to get 99 - 4x6 photo printed for only .99!  All I had to do is pay for shipping and handling.  Which ended up coming out to only $.07 a picture!  I really like Snapfish.com and I think I'm going to visit them to make gifts for those people in my life who are hard to buy for!  :o)
I used Sam's Club.com to make Jaxen's Baby Announcements (Thanks, Aunt Karey for the recommendation!!).  For 50 Baby Announcements with envelopes I paid $15.50, which was comparable to Walmart (which I could get 40 of them for $14.50) but I liked the Sam's Club designs a lot better!  Plus by signing up at Sam's Club, I got 25 free 4x6 photos!  I can't wait to show off the beautiful announcement that I made for Jaxen!!  :o)
So overall, at Snapfish.com - I paid $8.29 for 119 pictures and at Sam's Club.com - I paid $18.30 for 50 Baby Announcements & 25 pictures!!  So altogether I paid $26.59 for 144 - 4x6 prints and 50 Announcements shipped straight to my house!!  At Walmart it would have cost me $27.46 (PLUS shipping & handling) for the 144 pictures and only 40 Announcements.  Not a huge difference, but not bad for a Sunday afternoon of sitting on the couch.  Plus, I didn't have to take three kids to Walmart in this cold weather - that alone saved me a TON of stress!  LOL
So by the end of the week or as the websites both say, 2 - 4 days, I'll be all set to finish up my Thank You Notes and be hard at work on Jaxen's baby book!  Excited!!
The boys
Jacob cannot wait until this little guy is big enough to play with!!  It absolutely kills him when we tell him to leave him alone....
Happy "Scheduled" Birthday, Jaxen!
My baby is 3 weeks old today!
Today also marks the date in which Jaxen was suppose to be born, had he behaved himself and stayed put!!  But instead of surgery this morning, I got to wake up to this wonderful little boy!!  :o)
And just in case you're wondering. . . the computer is starting to have a lot of issues.  Jerry's trying to fix them, but this laptop is old and I'm afraid on it's last leg.  We computer shopped today while at Walmart... and I'm we will be replacing the computer soon.  But it's just not in the budget right now, I'm thinking when we get our taxes done next month.  So hopefully, this laptop can hang on a few more weeks!  But in case I'm MIA for a while, you will know why.
My Check Up
This morning was my 2 week checkup.  Nothing spectacular, just the basic after surgery stuff. . . How are you feeling, do you need any more pain medication, check the incision for oozing or bleeding and answer any of the questions that I have.  I think they just want you to come back so that they can all see the baby and Ooo and Aww!  :o)  It was a nice, informal visit with my doctor.  She asked about the baby and how things were going... basically, we just sat and talked for a little bit.
As for me, everything seems to be back to normal.  My blood pressure was normal, I weighted in at 132 pounds - which is only down 18 pounds from delivery and I still 12 pounds to go to be back to where I started.  But that's okay, pretty good for not being able to exercise or pick anything up heavier than the baby for 2.5 weeks!  But with all that being said, I know I have a little more to loose and I've been given the green light for moderate exercise.  I'm suppose to start slowly but if there aren't any issues with pain and my tummy, then I can go all out.  I really would like to be semi back to normal before I go back to work. . . but no pressure on myself.  9 months to put it all on - I get 9 to take it off too, right?!?!  :o)
My incision is healing good - no concerns with it.  My next appointment is in 4 weeks - February 2 - which will be my full post-baby checkup.  During that appointment I'll get my official return to work date and get my new birth control.  I did ask about my risk of low fluid with any new pregnancy... not that I am ready or even thinking about another one.  I can honestly say as of right now, I don't plan on any more kids but it's not completely out of the question - since I still have all my parts.  :o) Lol!  So if it does happen again, I wanted to know if this would put me into a 'high risk' category.  My doctor says that since I was just low on fluid and there was no sign that the baby had a growth restriction, so there are no signs pointing to this happening again since each pregnancy has there own placenta and it appears that my issues came from the way the placenta implanted.  But they did send my placenta out for a biopsy and it's still out.  So I don't have any definite answers to the whys but once the results come back, we will know for sure.  But as of right now, the only thing my doctor would do differently during another pregnancy would be more ultrasound scans after 32 weeks to watch fluids and size.  Because up until my 36 week scan, nothing appeared to be wrong.  Both my 11 week and 19 week scans were fine. . . and most people only get one scan done around 20 weeks because of insurance.  So we are lucky that my doctor insisted another one and that it was found early!!  Next time it won't be luck. . . it will be watched a lot closer from the beginning.
Well I got a few chores left to do, so I better get off of here and get them done before it's dinner and bed time!
Back-to-School
Sorry I haven't been updating as much these days.  With three kids, I'm sure you can imagine, my "free time" isnt' like it use to be!  And that's okay, these are the fun moments, watching them grow and learn.  There will be lot of "free time" when they are grown.  So for now, I live in the world of chaos. . . and trying to love every minute of it!!  Even if I don't have time to post a blog, I try to upload pictures every couple of days, so at least you can see what we've been up to.
Chloe went back to school today.  Leaving me with just the boys. . . I keep telling myself, "Welcome to the new "Normal"!"  So far this morning, Jaxen has taken a bottle and refused to go to sleep.  Instead he just wanted to fuss a little and be held.  Jacob was up bright and early and has been a monster ever since, he refused to use the potty by himself (which he clearly knows how to!) and because mom was busy with a fussy Jaxen - Jacob wet his pants.  Since then, Jax has finally fallen asleep and Jacob and I have tried to find something to do that doesn't involve Jacob getting into trouble!  So far this morning, we've tried to watch TV (Batman, Superman, Astro Boy - None, of them were good enough - apparently, he's way too picky this morning), we've tried to color and we've tried to play cars.  So far, nothings kept his attention.  Currently, we have dumped the entire barrel of Trios (and let me tell you, there are a TON of them!!) on my living room floor. . . let's see how long that holds his attention!
I can only hope that it holds his attention long enough and Jaxen stays asleep for me to finish up here, get dressed, empty the dish washer, start a load of laundry and find some lunch for us.  :o)  I know, it's a long shot but I can hope!
